| Alloptic delivers Industry’s Highest Performing Return Path Receiver |
Livermore, CA – October 26, 2009 – Alloptic, a global leader in the development of RF over glass (RFoG) and passive optical networking (PON) solutions for CATV, telecom, and private network operators worldwide, today announced the availability of its ultra high performance Return Path Receivers. The EVRRL410 series of Return Path Receivers allows service providers DOCSIS 3.0 performance with the widest dynamic range in which to operate a high capacity QAM return path using a standard, non-proprietary RFoG architecture.
The new Return Path Receiver builds upon the high performance of the Alloptic Receiver line, which already led the industry in noise performance. The EVRRL410 series provide 7 dB noise performance improvement over typical analog return receivers and almost 3 dB improvement over other Alloptic receivers. This ultra low noise performance translates into the ability to carry, with 15dB of margin, 4 bonded 64QAM channels in a DOCSIS 3.0 return path over an SCTE-standard, non-proprietary RFoG architecture operating with a 29dB optical budget.

Alloptic expands its line of Return Path Receivers with the release of the EVRRL410 series. The Return Path Receiver product line includes designs for both typical and high RF output requirements, as well as ones used for long reach and fiber-starved deployments. All receivers are temperature-hardened in 1RU form factors, with both front and rear access versions.
RFoG allows service providers to continue to leverage traditional HFC equipment and back-office applications with the new FTTP deployments. Cable operators can continue to rely on the existing provisioning and billing systems, CMTS platforms, headend equipment, set-top boxes, conditional access technology, and cable modems while gaining benefits inherent with RFoG and FTTx.
